RoomSync uses mutual Facebook friends and interests to empower residents to find a roommate through its apps PHILADELPHIA, PA – February 4, 2014 – Campus Apartments, the oldest and one of the largest privately held student housing companies in the nation, announced today a partnership with RoomSync to provide residents with a convenient, personal way to select their roommates by leveraging Facebook’s API online and on their mobile devices. Beginning Spring 2014, the power to select a compatible roommate will be in the hands of the resident. Through this partnership, Campus Apartments’ residents will be able to browse potential roommates through the RoomSync app based on a variety of topics, including interests, mutual friends and academic majors. This specially-designed tool empowers students to choose a roommate whom they feel best fits their living environment, rather than relying on the traditional process of site staff manually assigning roommates based on questionnaires. Once a resident selects a compatible roommate on RoomSync, the property’s leasing office receives a full roommate report, eliminating the paper process entirely. The matching service will be available to Campus Apartments’ owned properties and a portion of third party managed communities.
