Team IMPACT Holds Second Annual All In 5K
Team IMPACT raises over $100,000 toward nonprofit’s mission of supporting children with serious illness and disability
Boston, MA – October 18, 2024 – Team IMPACT, a nonprofit that matches children facing serious illness and disability with college sports teams, will host its second annual All In 5K event on Sunday, October 20th. With more than 1,300 runners, students, college athletes, and local children’s hospital families participating, Team IMPACT has raised more than $100,000 to date. One of Team IMPACT’s partners, Campus Apartments, a national leader in the on- and off- student housing industry, will fuel event hubs across the country and has raised funds from employees, residents, and community members nationwide. This is the second consecutive event that Campus Apartments is supporting after announcing a $100,000 donation in 2023.
Team IMPACT’s All In 5K is open to all, regardless of location, and has participants representing more than 160 colleges and universities across the country. Matched with hundreds of children facing unthinkable circumstances, student athletes, college administrators, and others from these campuses have signed up in support of Team IMPACT’s life-changing work.
Anyone can join the event by registering as an individual or a team and have the option of running, walking, or rolling their 5K from anywhere. Teams can work toward a collective fundraising goal, and all participants will be eligible for individual and team prizes along the way.
“We are thrilled to be hosting the second annual All In 5K with the support of our generous partners, campuses, families, and donors,” said Joe Daniels, CEO, Team IMPACT. “The All In 5K is a momentous celebration, but it’s also a critical opportunity to support our mission of pairing children with serious illnesses and disability with college sports teams. Every dollar raised helps us create lasting bonds and create transformative experiences for the child, ensuring these extraordinary kids know they’re never alone in their journey.”
Team IMPACT and Campus Apartments have organized a formal race at The Palestra in Philadelphia, PA, which will serve as the main hub of the All In 5K on October 20. In Philadelphia, participant check-in will begin at 10:00 a.m., with the 5K starting at 12:00 p.m. ET at 223 South 33rd Street. The Philadelphia hub of the All In 5K is a particularly special event, as the Penn men’s basketball team will also sign their Team IMPACT teammate, Justus. Justus’ Signing Day will begin at 11:30 a.m. The seven-year-old Norristown native has been a member of the team since October of 2023 and will sign his letter of intent with the Quakers at 11:30 a.m. before participating in the 5K with his teammates.
