Stanley Uhr
Corporate Counsel
Stanley Uhr serves as Corporate Counsel of Campus Apartments, providing legal advice to the executive team on a wide range of corporate and real estate issues, including corporate governance, leasing, management agreements and licensing, in addition to acting as the liaison for outside counsel.
Prior to joining Campus Apartments, Uhr served over 20 years as Vice President and Corporate Counsel for Deb Shops, Inc., a publicly traded company on the NASDAQ stock exchange until October 2007. Uhr participated on the Executive Committee in all material company decisions and was responsible for the supervision of general legal matters, SEC matters, labor relation matters, as well as lease administration, health insurance, shareholder relations and liaison with outside counsel. He was instrumental in the growth of Deb Shops as it increased to more than 340 stores across 43 states during his tenure. Additionally, Uhr was a key player on the team that took the company public in 1983 and then private in 2007.
Prior to his position at Deb Shops, Uhr was a partner at Pechner, Dorfman, Wolffe, Rounick & Cabot, where his practice concentrated in corporate and real estate law. During his time at the law firm, Uhr served as outside general counsel for Campus Apartments. He was also a lecturer for the Temple University School of Law Continuing Legal Education Program from 1985 to 1991 and served on the Whitemarsh Township Planning Commission from 1981 to 1988. Prior to entering private practice, he was a law clerk with the Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania and the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania.
Uhr is a member of the American, Pennsylvania and Philadelphia bar associations. He is a Permanent member of the Board of Directors of the Golden Slipper Club and Golden Slipper Club Camp. Uhr holds a juris doctorate degree from Duquesne University School of Law and a bachelor of business administration in pre-law and business from Temple University.
